is probably one of my favorite Maigret. It contains all the ingredients that make for me the big Maigret: Paris cinégénique post-war and the psychological depth of the characters.
I am a fan, an obsessed, that the days of tiredness, weeks of 'I'm not sure what to read', fits into this series as in a soft bed.
And I always find the same pleasure with Dr. Pardon, sandwiches and beer from the Brasserie Dauphine, the apartment on the Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, furniture, janitorial, January, Lucas, Torrence Wholesale Madame Maigret and her husband Teddy.
